Related Work

The Course Recommender Ontology was developed with help from a few published ontologies related to dates and times, codes, and academic structures. Listed below are the ontologies that were referenced in the design and/or implementation of the Course Recommender Ontology. • Curriculum Course Syllabus Ontology (CCSO) - CCSO aims to model concepts in academic settings, particularly with respect to course syllabi.
• Academic Institution Internal Structure Ontology (AIISO) - AIISO describes the organizational structure of academic institutions.
• BBC Curriculum - This ontology topic of study, field of study, and level as they relate to the UK’s national curricula.
• FIBO: Dates and Times Module - this ontology describes concepts like date, time, and schedules as referenced in financial services.
• Languages, Countries and Codes (LCC) - LCC provides metamodels to represent commonly used codes of languages.
